Rental Terms & Conditions

Child seats, roof racks and extra items are provided on making a request in the majority of destinations, but there is no such guarantee of availability. In majority of US states, child seats are obligatory. Usually, there is a cost payable to the car rental supplier. Make a note that rear seat belts might not provided in all vehicles. For any such request, you must check with the car rental supplier at the time of rental.

A Temporary Zanzibar Driving Permit is required for foreign visitors who wish to drive in Zanzibar. We can arrange the permit on behalf of the customer for USD 25, subject to receiving the required documents.

A refundable USD 300 security deposit is required at the start of the rental. The deposit will be refunded after the vehicle is returned, subject to the rental terms and any outstanding charges or damage.

Additional drivers are permitted only after prior approval and registration with Kibe Car Rental. Each additional driver must provide the required identification and valid driving documents. An additional driver fee maybe applied by $40.

Kibe Car Rental provides roadside assistance during the rental period. In the event of a mechanical breakdown, we will make reasonable efforts to provide assistance and, where necessary, arrange a suitable replacement vehicle subject to availability.

In the event of an accident, theft or damage, the renter must immediately notify Kibe Car Rental and, where required, the relevant authorities. The renter must cooperate fully with all necessary procedures.

Only drivers registered and approved by Kibe Car Rental may operate the vehicle. The renter is responsible for ensuring that all authorized drivers comply with the rental agreement.

The vehicle must be returned at the agreed date, time and location. Late returns may result in additional charges, depending on the circumstances and applicable rental terms.

Vehicle pick-up and drop-off can be arranged at agreed locations, including Zanzibar Airport and selected hotels. Additional delivery or collection charges may apply depending on the location.

All vehicles are inspected and maintained before rental. Customers are encouraged to check the vehicle condition and report any existing damage or mechanical concerns before starting the rental.

Customers are responsible for their personal belongings. Kibe Car Rental is not responsible for loss, theft or damage to personal items left inside the vehicle.

The renter is responsible for all traffic fines, parking penalties, tolls and other charges incurred during the rental period as a result of their use of the vehicle.

Cancellation terms depend on the booking conditions and the time of cancellation. Any applicable refund or cancellation charge will be handled according to the agreed booking terms.

Drivers must provide a valid driving license, passport or national ID, and accurate booking information before vehicle pickup. All drivers must hold a valid driving licence and meet the applicable age and licensing requirements. Foreign drivers must also have a Temporary Zanzibar Driving Permit. Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) CDW insurance is included in the rental rate and provides protection against accidental damage to the rental vehicle, subject to the terms, conditions, and exclusions of the rental agreement. - CDW Insurance: Included - Insurance Excess: USD 300 - Refundable Security Deposit: USD 300 - Unlimited Mileage: Included The renter remains responsible for the applicable excess in the event of covered damage. CDW does not cover damage or losses resulting from reckless or negligent driving, driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, unauthorized drivers, misuse of the vehicle, prohibited use, or breach of the rental agreement. In the event of an accident, theft, or damage, the renter must notify Kibe Car Rental immediately and cooperate with the required procedures. Please note: CDW is not the same as zero-excess or full comprehensive insurance. Any optional protection that reduces the excess will be clearly stated separately. By accepting the vehicle, the renter confirms that they have read and accepted the applicable insurance terms and conditions.

Vehicles must be returned on the agreed time and date. Late returns may result in additional rental charges.

The vehicle is provided with an agreed fuel level at the beginning of the rental and should be returned with the same fuel level. Any fuel shortage may be charged according to the rental agreement. If you return more than you were given, the Company will not be able to pay any compensation. Same to Same

Customers are responsible for damages caused by negligence or misuse of the vehicle.

Vehicles may not be used for illegal activities or by unauthorized drivers. The vehicle must not be used for illegal activities, racing, reckless driving, unauthorized commercial purposes, or by any unauthorized driver. Breach of these conditions may invalidate applicable insurance protection.
